Thought it was about time I posted some pics of my Haldane (currently in the custody of my Father and off the road with a siezed clutch) which is why I have not managed to attend any meetings!: It is an early galvanized ladder chassis car with Chevette axles front and rear. The Engine is a 2.1 litre Pinto with a Weber 38 DGAS Carb (From a 3 litre Capri) with a 5 speed gearbox. Although I bought this ready built (though tidied it up as it was quite an old build) I've always fancied building/finishing another - shame Pilgrim aren't making the 3000 any more. Personally I think it would be great relaunched as a back to basics 100S replica..

Hi Les
The car is in the Lake district though I am based near Manchester. I really need to help my Father to get the clutch sorted (and some new Spax shocks we bought fitted) to get the car Mot'd for 2010.
It would be good to attend Stoneleigh (and possibly even Newark or Tatton Park) to meet everyone and bolster the Haldane/3000 numbers!

Hi Roman,
I would completely echo Les' welcome to a 100 comment & look forward to seeing it - hopefully at Stoneleigh as you suggest may be possible. I too am optimistic that I may be able to get my 3000 ready for Stoneleigh - 2010, that is!

Sorry for the huge delay in my post! Fabulous looking car Bryan. I'd love to build one like that!
Do you have any more pics/details?
Talking to somebody this week re. fixing the clutch/new shocks/MOT to get back on the road. Maybe some bonnet straps and refurbished/new wheels too... Then maybe we can meet up with Hal 1 (nearest Haldane to me) and get to some shows.

Hi all
very nice looking car there roman, A meeting sounds like a good idea, we'll have to sort something out, i'm currently off the road with mine, i've been doing some bodywork alterations and needed to repaint it and i haven't really been rushing the job, there's a chap who lives in northenden also has one which i believe was the original factory demonstrator, he's currently rebuilding it, i live in a place called 'little lever' which is bolton/bury way.
i agree with you that it's a shame that they've stopped making them, or is that a temporary thing ? let's hope so.

It would be a terrible shame if the moulds really have been scrapped (not to mention unhelpful to HD100/3000 owners who may need body sections in future).
I was talking to an Austin Healey specialist who used to supply Haldane recently (at the Cholmondley pageant of power) who told me that converting 100/4s to 100S replicas is increasing in popularity and that he thought a good 100S replica would have plenty of market appeal.
I'd have thought it would be better offering a simpler & cheaper to build alternative than trying to compete for the same market as Sebring. Maybe I should give Pilgrim a call - my company specializes in automotive branding & marketing!
Hopefully we'll get the clutch, shocks & MOT sorted on the Haldane & we'll be able to meet up Roy - I'm only about 3 miles from Northenden myself! (though the Haldane is with my Father in the lakes).
As it needs new tyres I'm thinking about stripping & polishing the KN Minator wheels, so looking for a blast cabinet to use. Watching too much American Hotrod of late and now I'm getting itchy fingers!

Why would anyone want to scrap jigs and moulds for such a good looking car ? were they not worth trying to sell to someone else ? i suppose the only downside to owning them would be the amount of room needed to store them, a great shame. A club i was once a member of, the Rochdale owners club, still have the original moulds to make a new Olympic and they stopped general sales in the mid 70s, i dare say they'd need a lot of work to be able to make any more but the thought's there. I'll make stoneleigh a target for next year, must try and get a hood made this winter.
