hi tony
by "crossbow" do you mean the framework for mounting the seatbelts?i assume you have the part.if so the top rail is fiberglassed to the underside of the rear bodywork and the bottom is bolted through the chassis crossmember.my bulkhead is just plywood fiberglassed in,im not sure of the iva requirements so you will have to check if this is still ok.
both myself and rodger fabricated a steel framework to support both the screen pillars and the door hinges.the screen markings will be a problem though,as i recall they have to be "e"marked as the "period of grace"for the old kite mark has just finished.one option is to make a perspex aeroscreen or wind deflector then fit the screen ,demisters and wipers after testing and registering the car.unfortunately "e"marked glass is not avaliable.
im off on holiday soon so nag me for photos when i get back in a week .

Hi Tony,

Referring to the 'crossbow' whicha I again assume is for supporting the seatbelts, this is best 'glassed' in with the body upside down on the ground; additionally, I included an angle which spanned across the rollbar supports & bolted to the 'crossbow' upright.  Again additionally, I included a square hollow metal section between the underside of the body (at the point where it would be bolted down) which was a tight fit & bolted it all through to the chassis making it a rigid structure.

Re the windscreen, the dispensation for BS marked glass ended on 30th April - also something to do with the fuel tank - it must be separate from the car interior (not sure about separate from the boot).  I have also read that putting a car in effectively incomplete is frowned upon by the testers and, in theory, by changing from aero screens to full windscreen you have "modified" the car from that built & tested & could be uninsured.

Re your loss of enthusiasm, do you belong to a local club?  who can give you support &, if necessary assistance - actual practical assistance or technical advice?

For additional / 'technical' / detailed photos, it may be better to email these direct to you but, at the moment, I am unable to see any email address.  This may be for site admin reasons  Lips sealed
